Typography in Web Design: Using @font-face

Here's a tutorial on typography in web design and how to use the '@font-face' css rule WELL.!!! UPDATE !!!Courtesy of Paul Irish, here's the best syntax to use with @font-face for best performance in all browsers:************************************@font-face {font-family: 'Name_Of_Your_Font';/* Above we specify the font name to call later */src:url('/fonts/yourfont.eot?') format('eot'),url('/fonts/yourfont.otf') format('opentype'); /* above we show where the font is for Internet Explorer users in eot format, then show where it is for all other browsers in otf format. Internet explorer does not support otf. */}************************************NOTE: yes that '?' after the .eot file url is supposed to be there, not a typo.I've added comments to show you. The thing is, internet explorer does not support otf or ttf fonts. So convert to eot using same converter, and put it in the same directory, then fill in the blanks! :D

BlackBerry Challenge: BlackBerry Z30 vs The iPhone 5. Full Review - YouTube

BlackBerry Challenge: BlackBerry Z30 vs The iPhone 5. Full Review - YouTube

BlackBerry Z30 Review and Challenge http://www.daddoes.com/10248/blackberry-challenge-z30-vs-iphone5/ Today we have the results of a challenge. The folks at BlackBerry challenged us to swap out our iPhone 5 for a BlackBerry Z30 and record our experience for 7 days. We are always up for a good challenge and knew nothing about BlackBerry phones, so we gave it a shot. In truth, I was not expecting things to go well. I am a huge iPhone fan. I have had various iPhones for the last 5 years and really didn't think the BlackBerry Z30 had anything to offer me. Apparently I was wrong. As the video shows, there are plenty of cool features in BlackBerry OS 10 and the Z30. We loved the large and clear screen on the Z30. The battery on the Z30 runs laps around my iPhone. The whole BBM, message and notification center on BlackBerry really is a huge time saver. Sound quality is great, love the HDMI out and some cool features like NFC and Timeshift in photos. The real negative is simply the lack of apps. No Netflix. No Instagram. Lots of games that I had on my iPhone, not available in BlackBerry World. In the end, if you don't use a ton of apps, the BlackBerry Z30 is great and in many ways more enjoyable to use on a daily basis than the iPhone 5. Just having a battery that goes for days is a huge plus. If you do love apps and have lots of friends in the iOS world - you will have problems. No FaceTime, lots of missing apps. Head over to http://www.DadDoes.Com where we will have a full review of the BlackBerry Z30 and much more information on the BlackBerry Challenge. If you are interested in the Z30, here is some more info on the phone - Size Height 140.7 mm / 5.53 in Width 72 mm / 2.83 in Depth 9.4 mm / 0.37 in Weight 170g / 5.99 oz Navigation All-touch screen, with intuitive gesture based navigation Dedicated keys Volume Up/Down, Mute, Lock (for Power On/Off) Keyboard On screen BlackBerry® Keyboard (portrait/landscape), featuring contextual auto-correction, next-word prediction and a personalized learning engine that gets to know the way you type Display Resolution 1280 x 720 resolution, at 295 ppi 24-bit color depth Screen size 5" diagonal Super AMOLED 16:9 aspect ratio OS & desktop software Operating system BlackBerry® 10 OS Desktop software BlackBerry® Link software for your computer to enable synchronisation of data and media Learn more about BlackBerry Link Performance Processor Dual Core 1.7 GHz Qualcomm MSM8960T Pro Memory 2GB RAM 16GB Flash Expandable memory Removable microSD memory card—slot under back cover USB Ports USB 2.0 high speed port—allows charging and data synchronisation of the device with a USB cable HDMI Port Micro HDMI for connection to your HDTV or projector Power Battery 2880mAH non-removable battery Battery Life Up to 25 hours mixed use Up to 18 hours talk time (UMTS) Up to 16 days standby time Camera & video Rear camera 8 megapixel auto-focus camera Back Side Illumination for better low-light performance 5-element F2.2 lens Flash, continuous and touch to focus, image stabilisation Proprietary Enhanced Super Resolution Digital Zoom (5x) 1080p HD video recording Time Shift mode for pinpointing and adjusting individual elements of your picture Front camera 2 megapixel fixed-focus camera Image and video stabilisation 3x digital zoom 720p HD video recording BlackBerry® Balance™ technology offering dedicated profiles to keep work and personal data separate and secure Alerts & notifications Tone Vibrate On-screen or LED indicator (Notification options are user configurable) Voice input/output Dual integrated stereo speakers Multiple microphones Hands-free headset capable Bluetooth® headset capable Integrated hands-free speakerphone Network & connectivity Network bands Quad band LTE 3, 7, 20, 8 (1800/2600/900/800 MHz) Quad band HPSA/UMTS 1, 2, 5/6, 8 (800/850/900/1900/2100 MHz) Quad band GSM/GPRS/EDGE (850/900/1800/1900 MHz) Wi-Fi® 802.11 a/b/g/n 2.4 GHz / 5 GHz 4G Mobile Hotspot Bluetooth® Bluetooth 4.0 Low Energy (LE) with aptX™ enabled GPS Assisted, Autonomous and Simultaneous GPS Preloaded with BlackBerry® Maps application and enabled for e911 capabilities Support for User Plane and Control Plane GPS GLONASS Support NFC BlackBerry® Tag with NFC technology enables communication between BlackBerry smartphones and other NFC-enabled devices with a tap Sensors Advanced Sensors Accelerometer Magnetometer Proximity sensor Gyroscope Ambient light sensor Accessibility BlackBerry® Screen Reader, for customers with vision loss BlackBerry® Magnify, for customers with partial vision Face-to-face video chat with BBM™ Video Voice Control for sending messages, placing calls, search and more Adjustable screen brightness, scalable fonts Teletypewriter (TTY) Support Certain models rated for use with hearing aids
